Hello,
I have just moved into Vail this winter and I am looking for information on courses in my area ( The closest open couses could be considered my area for now) and to get involved in some games with locals who know the couses.
I know random doubles is an awesome way to do this. I am used to driving 30 min. or so to play back in the North Carolina Mtns. But with the way gas is thats about my limit.
If anyone has info on other sites which may be centered closer to me or if you live closer to me please let me know! |

Hey Matt, welcome to CO. As I'm sure you are aware, there is plenty of snow and will probably be a while before several of the area course are ready to play.
The closest one is on top of the Vail gondola. There is a short 9 hole in Edwards and a pretty nice one in Eagle, 18 holes, watch the natural tee pads! Frisco is right around 30 minutes but has been devastated by the pine beetles. Leadville is probably closer to an hour but is a great course, not sure when it gets playable, they are at 10,000 ft. Also more like an hour is Glenwood Springs, great course.
If you're ever on the front range there are some great courses here in the Denver area too.
Enjoy the mountains,
peace,
