| There were 4 players in our group and after teeing off we all headed toward the basket. Everyone was within 50 feet of the basket and I walked to a disc I thought was mine and marked it with my mini then stepped away so the away player could continue. Before I put the disc into my bag, I noticed it was not mine. It was nearly identical other than the name on the bottom. Is there a penalty against my score? No. I did not finish out from the incorrect mark. The player whose disc I marked played from where I marked his disc, I played from a mark where MY disc was and finished out the hole. |

803.09 THROWING FROM ANOTHER PLAYER'S LIE
A. A player who has thrown from another player's lie shall receive two penalty throws, without a warning. The offending player shall complete the hole as if the other player's lie were his or her own. No throws shall be replayed.
According to this you will only receive a penality if you would have thrown from his position, and visa versa, if he had thrown from where your disc was he woulda received a penality.
So I would interpute that as you jsut mistakenly marked the disc wrong, and since you left a marker there you didn't change the lie any for the other player so again no penality. |

What does every one think of the new rule re: your disc being stuck in a tree? I say that if you can climb the tree and throw the disc from where it is fine, but if not it should cost you a stroke. |

Higher than 2 meters then it's a penalty!!! Rule should never be changed. You messed up, pay the price of a stroke!!

I think Im starting to come around on this rule. If you get stuck in a tree you are already penalized by not having the flight of the disc because you hit the tree. Im I hit a tree and fall out and then Koz hits the same tree and stcks in we both get penalized because we didnt get the full flight of the disc but why should he get an extra penalty stroke because he wasnt lucky enough to fall out and I did? I never really liked the rule in the first place. Its a TD call before the tourney wich is what I dont agree with. Either you have the rule for every PDGA tourney or you dont. Dont give people the ability to start to change the rules all they are doing is taking credibility away from our sport by making it wishy washy. If you couldnt tell I have lots of issues with PDGA and the way they are slowly screwing up our sport.
